This three day event featured a tour of the Fairfax Assembly Plant where the Pontiac Grand Prix was built, an evening of good food and fun at the Station Casino, a Day at the Track and a full day of Car show activities including charity raffle and silent auction.
PFYC has been the Headlining Sponsor of the Grand Prix Gathering and also sponsors of the day at the track. The Grand Prix Store Day at the Track includes private rental of Kansas City International Raceway where registrants spend a day burning up the asphalt of the 1/4 mile, participate in a bracket racing championship, followed by a burnout contest and finish the day off eating Mustangs and F-Bodies for dinner after 6pm when the track opens to the public. In 2004, the Grand Prix Gathering moves to Moline, Illinois for three days of events from September 16-18.

It's an alternative to street racing which has been a major problem in Western Washington. It gives an outlet for people who want to competitively race their cars while learning about the sport of drag racing.
