Performance is difficult to measure when used in conjunction with other parts. However, if you want to upgrade the intake and exhaust of the car, it makes sense to give the car an easier breathing throttle as well. I got mine when it was offered for the 3.4L engine, and with a new intake, I'm satisfied with the air my Grand Am takes in.
