I bought my Borla exhaust about six months after buying my 01GAGT new. Quickly decided on the look and reputation of Borla, and ordered it from here and had it installed in March of 2002. I can tell you that 5+ years later, the kit is still awesome and hasn't degraded a bit. The metalwork still looks outstanding, the tips only need slight cleaning from time to time, and the sound has been unwavering and delicious. From the first time I fired the car up after install, to starting it up after installing my Cold Air kit, the sound has been wonderful. It's deeper, with more rumble, and it screams when you get on it. It's truly a great system, and I've been running it for years now with zero problems. I've modified my car in many ways, but to this day, I still say this kit was my favorite, and money well spent.

This exhaust system is way better than the stock system that came with my 04 Grand Am GT. It sounds way tougher at about 2,200 RPM, and produces a noticable increase in power. Not only that, but getting it from PFYC is also a great way to save >$100. Overall, I'm way satisfied with it. It may seem a little expensive for people who don't race too often, but I think it's worth it, even for the street.

When I first received the package containing my Borla exhaust system, all the parts looked astonishing shiny with it's stainless steel coating. It is more of the exhaust system you should buy as a more cosmetically minded customizer of a Grand Am. It changes the exhaust note slightly, only when letting off the accelerator it induces a little growl of back pressure. To truly escalate this sound and the overall exhaust loudness, try taking it to a shop and have the resonator by the catalytic converter cut off and replaced with straight pipe. It even then will not be extremely loud because of the muffler on the other end, but it will make this much more worth an $800 buy.
