The Predator is a state-of-the art, high performance flash programmer and tuner in a sleek, handheld design. Once connected to the vehicle, the Predator's internal computer recognizes the vehicle's PCM (computer) and automatically picks the proper tuning files designed specifically for that PCM. Inside the Predator's memory are the actual tuning files that optimize spark timing and air/fuel ratio curves. The transmission parameters are remapped to improve the shift characteristics such as shift firmness and shift points. Unlike other tuners, DiabloSport's programming is performed in very small increments throughout the entire RPM range, for a smoother, wider and a more predictable power delivery. Diagnostics

The Predator's diagnostic features includes scan and erase fault codes as well as live data monitoring of parameters supported. The scan and erase feature is designed to aid users when the "service engine" light comes on. Check the trouble code and its definition as erase the code if you want.

The live data monitoring feature is a good tool for tuning and to observe specific parameters while driving or during dyno testing. It allows user to monitor the following parameters (these values are from an LS1 5.7L V8 engine in a Corvette):

PC Interface Kit

The PC Interface Kit is an optional add-on that allows you to connect your Predator to your PC. This is necessary if you want to update your Predator software. The PC Interface Kit includes a DiabloSport approved DB9 to DB9 serial extension cable and a 12 Volt 1 Amp power supply. Choose from serial (for older PCs and laptops) or USB (for newer PCs and laptops) below.

It will not affect emissions testing but is not officially legal for use on street cars that require this certification and is meant for off road use only. It works best with 93 octane fuel.
