The factory aluminum caliper pistons are a huge heat sink, rapidly transmitting
heat from the pads into the fluid. These stainless steel pistons
insulate the fluid from the heat, resulting in a more consistent brake
pedal and less chance of fluid boil. When high performance or racing
pads are used, these pistons are considered a must.
Purchase a GM caliper seal kit, sold separately, to complete your
installation.
