Cartuning Turbocharger Kit - 3.8L V6

Get ready to turbocharge your 3.8L engine and have the power you have been wanting for years. Cartuning Performance has been developing this kit for many months and is proud to release this awesome turbo kit. You will NOT be disappointed with the results once you drive your car for the first time.

Available is a turbo upgrade which gives you a better Precision Turbo PT-61mm trim. This decreases lag time considerably, and changes the maximum hp from 450 to about 690. A VERY nice upgrade indeed.

Installed on the L36 3.8L non-supercharged engine (found on Grand Prix GT, Monte Carlos, etc.) Cartuning Performance claims the kit makes 280 at the wheels and over 300 ft/lbs of torque at the wheels, although on the dyno it actually produced 296hp and over 400 ft/lbs at the wheels on a completely stock car with an open down pipe. The standard turbo is suitable for those that want to bolt a turbo kit to a stock car that has no modifications done to it and wants a really fun daily driver. The upgraded Precision Turbo PT-61mm trim is good for the same purpose, but for those that think they want to take it much further in the future, or already have a lot of mods that support more breathing.

If you have a the 3.8L Supercharged engine as found in the 97-03 Grand Prix GTP then also available is an adaptor plate to make the kit work perfectly. What you will do is remove the snout (nose drive), and block off the end of the s/c casing. This will make way more horsepower then with the supercharger. If you have an intercooler installed already, not to worry as this will work just fine with all intercoolers on the market.

Installation time for the turbo kit is approximately 6 hrs. Your vehicle does not get modified in any way that does not allow it to go back to completely stock. All factory parts will remain perfectly in tact with no cutting or modification to the drive train or exhaust.

Optionally available is a 2000°F ceramic coating on the crossover pipe, both down pipes, intake tube, block off plate, and turbo turbine.

  • Turbonetics EVO waste gates w/ multiple psi settings

  • AN fitting oil lines, oil "T", custom adaptor for oil return

  • High flow air filter, along with a custom fenderwell intake setup

  • All bolts, nuts washers required (stainless steel)
  • O2 sensor plug for original O2 sensor location
  • Custom programmed PCM

  • Colder spark plugs

2008 Grand Prix 3.8L supercharged and non-supercharged versions are not available at this time.

PCM Core Charge: If you decide to keep your factory PCM you will not be refunded the core charge. If you return your factory PCM, this charge will be refunded.

NOTE: Please return your core to us within 60 days of receiving your product. If we do not get your core within 60 days, you will forfeit your core refund.

I had my turbo and intercooler professionally installed, the guys that installed did a great job. It took a little longer to install that what was quoted, however. My 2001 Grand Prix GT Coupe has never been quicker. Prior to this, I had installed a K&N filter kit, a Dynomax exhaust and a DHP programmer. Accordingly, the K&N kit and the DHP programmer had to be removed to make way for the Cartunning Turbo and Intercooler and WOW. I had it dynoed before (167khp at the wheels) and then dynoed after it was installed. I gained 132.2 khp at the wheels. This means it goes from cruising speed to 190 km in no time flat - no Turbo lag at all. I am quite impressed with the Turbo.
