Not a lot of room for the 98 GTP, but I got it in, sounds great, city mpg had always been 19.1 mpg doing 23 now.

I've had mine for almost 4 years now and I have NEVER had a single issue with this kit. install of tube and filter plenty easy, the backing plate and support arm was fairly easy as well. Added HP- I haven't had my car on a dyno yet but i'd say it's probably near the 10 hp range just from the extra pull when accelerating.
Throttle response DID increase slightly
What's the best part though, is the much deeper sound you get out of the engine itself! It puts V8 trucks to shame from the sounds it'll kick out, buy it and see for yourself!
MUST HAVE!
Thanks again PYFC!!
Sounds Great! Good Performance!

I just had this installed by a local shop and I am very pleased. It sounds great and performs well. It has a nice roar to it when under hard acceleration.

Much improved throttle response, sounds louder and happier.
Easy and fun install, make sure clamps are very tight
same fuel economy (21.5 today)
With 217K, I avoid red line, where most of the hp and torque gains are, but the car seems much more eager at more reasonable rpm's and approaching these limits. It is considerably more aggressive, or at least seems that way...super cool.
One Hour Install!

- Noticeable power improvement!
- Whistle at low rpms, roar at high rpms!
I'm overall very pleased with my purchase, there are only pros to this K&N intake kit. I highly recommend to anyone who wants a little extra from their car.

Just got it today, actually took me about 2 1/2 hours to install being a complete ameature with the stuff and trying not to break anything. all the parts were made so perfectly designed for my car (2002 GP 40'th ann GT Coupe) ran into a problem bolting the housing to the frame (bottom screw thats supposed to hold down the brace and heat shield) its called a self thread screw and it just did not work well, so i used a short tip same-size wood screw with a in-wall splitter and it tightended great and worked like a dream. dont try to use a bolt and nut cause u CANNOT under any circumstances get to the underneath of that hole. all the parts were included and instructions were very detailed step by step. car sounds great at idle and when its at around 2.7-3.5K RPM it just screams awesome, any higher then that [higher the better] and it sounds BEASTLY. it sounds like a whole different engine under the hood even with the wind blowing in the windows or the windows up, my car is equip with a electronic exhaust cutout and when its open it sounds threw it too and man does it sound great. the box and filter fit perfectly with little space to give, simply keep in mind its supposed to fit as if it were OEM. noticed about a 9 HP gain, have yet to test gas milage. my car is at 113K Miles with no other mods but cutout and this.
