GM decided they wanted the O2 Sensor mounted vertically on your car's factory exhaust, which resulted in what's been termed the "U-Bend." This restrictive section of pipe causes added backpressure resulting in power loss and diminished throttle response. Modifying your car with a different intake system and/or smaller pulley only makes this restriction worse. Free up this restriction with our U-Bend replacement pipe. Many of our customers used to have this piece fabricated and installed at a local exhaust shop for around $75 or more. If you're having a hard time finding someone to do this, or you would just rather buy a pre-made and have it installed, this is your solution. Because it requires welding to the catalytic converter, you will need to have it installed professionally if you do not weld at home. The 2.5" size is for stock exhausts and will also work with all of the cat-back exhaust systems we offer. If you're ordering our High Flow Catalytic Converter or Off Road Pipe, you won't need this piece, because it's already built in to those parts. For off road use only. Made of high grade T-304 stainless steel tubing which will hold up to even the harshest winter environments.
NOTE: This has been tested on the 3.8L Series II engine only.
