PLEASE BE PATIENT WHILE ALL THE THUMBNAIL JPEG's DOWNLOAD

Equipment Needed

***Always Use Proper Saftey Equipment***

1.) Warm up the oil.

Drive around for 10 - 15 minutes before doing an oil change, but becareful because the car may be come extremely hot.

2.) Jack up the car.

It's easiest to use a set of "Rhino Ramps". These ramps can support up to 12,000 lbs gross vehicle weight. You can also use a traditional jack and jack stands too if wanted.

3.) Drain the oil

In the picture below (lower left), is the drain plug for oil. Place the drain pan beneath the plug, and take the 15mm socket wrench to take off the drain plug. **This is where hot oil comes out, use caution when draining oil** Open your hood and remove the oil filler cap to ensure all old oil is drained.

4.) Remove oil filter

Replace the drain plug and remove the oil filter. The oil filter is right next to the passenger front side wheel, almost straight above the CV boot. If you're using a floor jack, it may be easier to remove the passenger wheel. Make sure you have the drain pan moved over below the oil filter. Use the oil filter wrench and turn counter clockwise to remove the oil filter. ** Caution - hot oil will come out once you start loosening the filter **

5.) Put New Oil Filter On

Open up a quart of oil, and use your finger tip to line the rubber gasket on the new oil filter with oil. This will prevent the filter from bonding to the car and make the filter easier to be removed next time. Tighten the oil filter by hand. Once you feel you can't easily turn the filter anymore, turn it another 180 degrees. Double check to make sure the drain plug is on and tight.

6.) Fill & Check Oil Level

Place a funnel into the oil fill hole, and pour 4 1/2 quarts of your favorite 10W-30 oil into the engine. Replace the oil filler cap. Take the car off of the ramps and/or jack. Make sure the car is parked on a level surface, and allow the engine to run back up to operating temperature. Shut the car off and use the dip stick and check the oil level. The oil level should come up to "FULL". If not, add oil until you reach that point. On cars with the digital diver information center, press the "MODE" button until your oil life meter comes up. Then hold down the RESET button for 10 seconds or until the meter reads 100% again.
