The SD Grand Prix Ram Air Hood for the 1997-2003 Pontiac Grand Prix is sure to turn heads. Our SD Grand Prix Ram Air Hood is built using the finest materials and craftsmanship available and boasts a weight savings of almost 25% (over 11 lbs) compared to the stock hood. Comes with high quality aluminum inlet and heat extractor grills. Uses factory hood struts, hinges and latches. Smooth underside. PFYC is proud to offer this exceptional value to our customers. Q: Can you recommend a body shop in my area to have the hood prepped and painted?
A: While we don't have a database of body shops around the country, we can give you some hints on finding the right place to do the work. Look for a shop that has experience with fiberglass and has worked with aftermarket hoods. Rarely will you find that your local dealership has had any experience with fiberglass, they usually work with factory parts made of steel. Some of our customers have had success contacting their local Chevrolet dealer's body shop and asking where they send Corvettes that come in damaged as Corvettes are fiberglass. Your local performance shop may also have recommendations. Ask for recommendations of other customers who have had similar work done.
Q: What all is involved with "prep" and painting as listed in the description above?
A: Your body shop will want to test fit the hood immediately upon receiving it. They will make any adjustments necessary to make it fit just right. They will also want to block sand it prior to painting. This is where a good body shop is important. If they don't have experience with fiberglass, they can cost you money. There should be a couple of hours of labor involved with test fitting and prepping (painting will be extra). If they want to charge you for much more than that or they are telling you the hood will need repair before they can paint it, tell them to hold off and email us for further instructions.
Q: Can I buy a functional airbox?
A: The K&N FIPK Air Intake Kit listed in the Related Products section will sit below the air inlet to grab the incoming air.

I received many complements about my SD hood. Ranging from sleek to out right intimidating. The one that matters most came from the body shop who painted it. He said that it was the best quality aftermarket hood he had ever seen. I asked how long he had been in the business. thirty years

This a great new look for ur Grand Prix! There hasn't been 1 day that I haven't had some1 comment on my car/hood or just have ppl breaking their necks to take a 2nd look. There is 1 thing that I recommend 4 u 2 do if u get this hood, please make sure ur body shop test fits the hood b4 they accept it. my body shop did not do this & now my hood doesn't fit flush w/the car. It's not super noticeable but it is noticeable. Since PFYC does tell u to make sure it fits b4 accepting the hood I'm giving this item a 5 star rating. Therefor its my body shops fault, so don't have this happened 2 u. Other then that I live how my car looks w/this hood. Great buy!

RESIDENTIAL SHIPPING IS NOT AVAILABLE - no exceptions. Shipping address must be a business address. You MUST include the business name in the Company field during checkout. Shipping is by freight company. Canadian customers are still responsible for taxes, duties and brokerage fees upon delivery. If you live more than 20 miles outside of a major metropolitan area, shipping charges may be more. If they are more than what you paid during checkout, we will notify you before shipment with the option to pay the additional charge or cancel the order for a full refund. If you'd like a solid quote prior to placing your order, please contact us with your address, zip code and product you are ordering.
Please check the product for damage carefully prior to accepting the package from the delivery service. If anything is damaged, document the damage, take photos and REFUSE delivery. Alert us immediately with details of the damage and photos. IF THE PACKAGE IS SIGNED FOR AND DAMAGED IS FOUND AFTER IT HAS BEEN SIGNED FOR, YOU HAVE WAIVED ALL RIGHTS TO DAMAGE CLAIMS.
Test fit parts immediately. All parts have been inspected and test fit prior to shipment. If your body shop can not get the part to fit correctly, contact us immediately. Photos of any fit problems must be emailed to us for evaluation. Include the body shop's phone number so we may offer technical support to the body shop if necessary. We may require you to have a different body shop install the parts at our discretion if we feel a second opinion is needed. Any claims for fit problems must be brought to our attention within 3 business days of receiving the part.
Any claims for defects in fit or finish made after prep work has started on the part will not be honored. This means if your shop takes it upon themselves to fix any issues without prior approval, we will not reimburse for any related expenses nor will the manufacturer honor any defect or fitment claims so make sure test fitting is done prior to any work being started.
Part warranty is 1 year from date of purchase against manufacturer's defects or workmanship. Warranty is for part replacement only.
