As featured on the PFYC Grand Prix Inferno Show car that debuted at the 2003 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, we're proud to offer the Grand Prix Inferno Ram Air Hood. This all new design was engineered from the ground up especially for the 2004 and newer Grand Prix. Featuring twin, low profile ram air inlets, the Grand Prix Inferno Ram Air Hood is not only attractive but functional. The ram air inlets duct air over to the airbox. Install a K&N Intake kit (found in the Under the Hood section) to make the inlets functional. The louvered heat extractors allow underhood heat to escape, helping to keep the engine bay cooler. With a finished underside, you'll be just as proud to show your car with the hood up as you will with it down. Our Grand Prix Inferno Ram Air Hood is built using the finest materials and craftsmanship available and boasts a weight savings of almost 25% (over 10 lbs) compared to the stock hood. Includes inlet grills. Uses factory hood struts, hinges and latches. Comes unpainted, ready to prep and paint.

Q: Can you recommend a body shop in my area to have the hood prepped and painted?

A: While we don't have a database of body shops around the country, we can give you some hints on finding the right place to do the work. Look for a shop that has experience with fiberglass and has worked with aftermarket hoods. Rarely will you find that your local dealership has had any experience with fiberglass, they usually work with factory parts made of steel. Some of our customers have had success contacting their local Chevrolet dealer's body shop and asking where they send Corvettes that come in damaged as Corvettes are fiberglass. Your local performance shop may also have recommendations. Ask for recommendations of other customers who have had similar work done.

Q: What all is involved with "prep" and painting as listed in the description above?

A: Your body shop will want to test fit the hood immediately upon receiving it. They will make any adjustments necessary to make it fit just right. They will also want to block sand it prior to painting. This is where a good body shop is important. If they don't have experience with fiberglass, they can cost you money. There should be a couple of hours of labor involved with test fitting and prepping (painting will be extra). If they want to charge you for much more than that or they are telling you the hood will need repair before they can paint it, tell them to hold off and email us for further instructions. Please note that later models such as late 2007 and 2008 models have gone with a single hood strut which is much stronger than the struts used when there were two. For those vehicles we recommend purchasing a 2004 model hood strut and replacing the factory strut with it to prevent the hood from being pushed too high where the strut meets the hood.

The hood overall is amazing. There is one little problem with it. Towards the front of the hood on the drivers side it sits a little higher than it should. I have talked to several other people who have purchased this hood and it is the same on all of them. This would be something to possibly look into changing in the future.

I admit I was skeptical when I ordered as to how the quality would be, but I was totally thrilled! I had it installed on my 2006 Grand Prix GXP and it was exactly what the car was begging for. The hood shock had to be left off, otherwise it caused the hood to warp but other than that it was a perfect fit. A special "Thank You" to Gary and the crew at NorthEast Collision for their phenomenal workmanship and attention to detail!!! Now it looks as mean as it sounds!!

Love the Ram Air Hood!!! Looks great with the rest of the PFYC accessories. Can't use my shock though because it makes the hood warp. Still looks awesome!!!

This hood is very nice quality and good workmanship. It looks great on my car! I painted it a two-tone color and it looks great. The only thing I would like to see improved is I can't have the hood shock on because it sits to high on that side but I can use a hood prop if I ever need to get under the hood.
