Product Description

Picking up where Pontiac left off, the GTO Banshee Ram Air Hood follows the tradition of a functional dual inlet ram air system and incorporates functional heat extractors. The low profile ram air inlets allow for cooler air to enter the airbox increasing performance. The louvered heat extractors allow under hood heat to escape, helping to keep the engine bay cooler. With a finished underside, you'll be just as proud to show your GTO with the hood up as you will with it down. The fiberglass version weighs about 25% less than a stock steel hood!

The quality, workmanship and fit of the GTO Banshee Ram Air Hood is second to none. Using the finest materials available, each hood is individually manufactured by skilled craftsman with years of experience. The quality and craftsmanship of this hood will save you hours of labor for prep compared to many other aftermarket fiberglass hoods.

Comes unpainted, ready to prep and paint. Finished underside. Utilizes factory hood latch, safety latch and support struts. A factory 2004 GTO hood weighs about 42 pounds. Our fiberglass hood weighs about 31 pounds, and going to carbon fiber shaves off another 2 pounds.

Q: I'd like to buy the front end shown in the photos. Is it available?

A: No. That was a limited production piece made in 2004 and is no longer available.

Q: Does this hood have pre-drilled holes for the windshield washer nozzles?

A: No. You could have your body shop drill the holes for you, but we wouldn't recommend it. The best option is to obtain windshield wiper-mounted nozzles (GM part number 22094728) and attach those to your windshield wiper arms.

Q: Can you recommend a body shop in my area to have the hood prepped and painted?

A: While we don't have a database of body shops around the country, we can give you some hints on finding the right place to do the work. Look for a shop that has experience with fiberglass and has worked with aftermarket hoods. Rarely will you find that your local dealership has had any experience with fiberglass, they usually work with factory parts made of steel. Some of our customers have had success contacting their local Chevrolet dealer's body shop and asking where they send Corvettes that come in damaged as Corvettes are fiberglass. Your local performance shop may also have recommendations.

Q: What all is involved with "prep" and painting as listed in the description above?

A: Your body shop will want to test fit the hood immediately upon receiving it. They will make any minor adjustments necessary to make it fit just right (latch and hinge adjustments). They will also want to block sand it prior to painting. This is where a good body shop is important. If they don't have experience with fiberglass, they can cost you money. There should be a couple of hours of labor involved with test fitting and prepping (painting will be extra). If they want to charge you for much more than that or they are telling you the hood will need repair before they can paint it, tell them to hold off and email us for further instructions.

Received hood in a timely manner. Unfortunately it was the wrong one. Contacted customer service. They were very helpful and i received the right hood very fast. Would definitely recommend this company to others.
Very Nice But Not Perfect!

My hood is a show stopper for sure for most, but for those who pay attention to detail, it's flawed. I have a bubble near the front driver side...and I'm not sure how they make this surface, but there are a few spots where there are misses...almost like spots...but to stand back and take it in, it's very nice. I had an OTR cold air intake...I didn't know I needed my factory intake for this to be right...but that was ok too. The last thing I didn't like was the shipping cost for the time it took and weight...plus I added the box charge for protection. I drive a semi...I move freight...but the hood is what I wanted and what I got...and it is nice over all.
Carbon Fiber Hood

I recently bought the Banshee carbon fiber hood and it looks great! I couldn't be more happy with the hood. The finish looks smooth and clear. The fitment is almost perfect. The online support is one the best. They helped me like no other. Thanks Mike. With that said. I did have a shop install my hood right out of the box. No paint needed. I do have a couple of issues with the hood to. There are no drainage holes for the heat extractors and for the ram air scoops. When I washed my car for the first time I found that water collected in the ram air ducts and extractor area. When I lifted the hood to wipe the inside. All of the water dumped out all over my cold air filter. Underneath the hood I noticed a lot of swirl marks to. Either from shipping or not being finished completely. There were also masking tape still stuck to the stainless screens. But my shop should have cleaned that one up for me. This is the kind of stuff I would have expected from the fiber glass hood not the carbon fiber one. That why I rated it at 4 instead of a 5. If I had to do it all over again I would no hands down. Ill post my pictures when I take them. Peace out!
