PFYC Employee Spotlight: Brian from web development.

When working on various automotive forums answering questions and creating new threads for PFYC. I see comments that I must be living in a foreign country. Or that I do not know anything about cars. Well, that is just not true. You should know that I was born and raised here in America and I love cars. Growing up I spent many hours in the garage working on cars with my dad who was always working on cars. Whether he was restoring an old car, modifying our minivan to make it run better or making his latest hotrod run faster.

I was out there turning wrenches with him. Being a child of the 80’s I grew up watching The Dukes of Hazzard. Watching the General Lee fly over cars and slide around corners made a lasting impression on me and sparked my love of all things Chrysler powered. Because I had blond hair I always pretended I was Bo Duke and my bikes were the General Lee. Anytime I jumped a curb or a hill I would yell Yee Haw! When I got old enough to buy my first car I looked for a Charger but was unable to find one. Because I could not find a Charger I ended up getting a small block powered Challenger and building it up. I added headers, a four barrel carb, home ported cylinder heads and added a set of gears that made cruising at any speed over 70 mph nearly impossible.

Always on the lookout for something fun to drive. I was introduced to turbo powered front wheel drive Dodges of the mid-1980’s. The best cars were those built and tuned by the great Carroll Shelby. These cars by today’s standards, they do not have that much power. But when they were new they made the same power as a Mustang or a Camaro and weighed less. And as everyone knows when you add more boost you make more power. And these little cars LOVE boost. I have several friends who have turbo dodges that run in the 10’s. And they still drive them everywhere on the street. A turbo powered Dodge is just too much fun to drive!

Now just because I drive Dodges all of the time does not mean that I do not know anything about Fords or Chevys. I have spent a lot of time helping friends and family with their cars and trucks. I hope that this will let people know that when you ask a question about a part you will be getting an answer from someone who not only lives here in America but has been working on cars since they were just a kid.
