Our SD Grand Prix Ram Air Hood is built using the finest materials and craftsmanship available and boasts a weight savings of almost 25% (over 11 lbs) compared to the stock hood. Q: Can you recommend a body shop in my area to have the hood prepped and painted?
A: While we don't have a database of body shops around the country, we can give you some hints on finding the right place to do the work. Look for a shop that has experience with fiberglass and has worked with aftermarket hoods. Rarely will you find that your local dealership has had any experience with fiberglass, they usually work with factory parts made of steel. Some of our customers have had success contacting their local Chevrolet dealer's body shop and asking where they send Corvettes that come in damaged as Corvettes are fiberglass. Your local performance shop may also have recommendations. Ask for recommendations of other customers who have had similar work done.
Q: What all is involved with "prep" and painting as listed in the description above?
A: Your body shop will want to test fit the hood immediately upon receiving it. They will make any adjustments necessary to make it fit just right. They will also want to block sand it prior to painting. This is where a good body shop is important. If they don't have experience with fiberglass, they can cost you money. There should be a couple of hours of labor involved with test fitting and prepping (painting will be extra). If they want to charge you for much more than that or they are telling you the hood will need repair before they can paint it, tell them to hold off and email us for further instructions.
Q: Can I buy a functional airbox?
A: The K&N FIPK Air Intake Kit listed in the Related Products section will sit below the air inlet to grab the incoming air.

Hood was just as expected, awesome! I got the fiberglass on and it's beautiful on my car. Fits snug as a bug! Now all I need is an air box. Love the clip, although! Wish it came with the chrome mesh that is in the hood and like the chrome inserts for the grills that you can buy on this website. No worries, easy to make! My pussy car looks mean now! ;)

I bought this hood to replace the stock hood when I got in my first accident. First off, this is a great product. Excellent form, no corners cut here guys, comes in white gel coat ready to paint; and it takes to a good paint job well. ( I recommend getting the paint work professionally done, it is worth the money for the final look) The first set of scoops are functional ram air and will feed an open intake such as a K&n short ram intake. The second set vent hot air off of the engine keeping your all important super charger colder. So this hood isn't just for aesthetics. Now for the bad news. If you do not get your hood fitted it won't sit perfect. As mine is now the under side of the hood touches my engine mounts and frame struts. I should also mention that this hood comes closer then the stock hood, so lowering your hood mount screws is advisable. I know once I get it fitted it will sit just fine, I just wish I could get it on myself. ( I'm a D.I.Y. kinda guy) However I would recommend this hood on its great quality and function as compared to other aftermarket hoods that cost more, are purely for looks, and are cheaply produced.

i bought this hood back in February it came packaged very nicely and is a very nice fiberglass hood it was the easiest fiberglass hood to install its very nice and very good quality the only thing is after a while of opening and shutting it there is small cracks in the paint if you look close you can see them make sure its adjusted perfectly and the hood grills are not removable and come in stainless steel so you will have to tape them off real well to paint them or to not get paint on them but over all very nice hood and i will still give it a 5 stars and its a mean sporty look!

Just put the carbon fiber hood on hooked up the ram air and every thing was perfect! can definitely feel the extra horse power and the carbon fiber looks phenomenal the mesh is perfect I love the black edging done around the ram air intakes and the border this is way more hood than I was expecting. Shipping was fast only took about 2 1/2 weeks to get and by the looks of it they make these fresh because you can tell it was just made. I would definitely recommend this hood to anyone thinking about getting one and trust me when you get it you will be as shocked as me to see how perfect every last detail on this hood is and as a bonus it came with all the mounts for the shocks and hood latch. Thanks again for another great purchase.

RESIDENTIAL SHIPPING IS NOT AVAILABLE - no exceptions. Shipping address must be a business address. You MUST include the business name in the Company field during checkout. Shipping is by freight company. Canadian customers are still responsible for taxes, duties and brokerage fees upon delivery. Test fit parts immediately. All parts have been inspected and test fit prior to shipment. If your body shop can not get the part to fit correctly, contact us immediately. Photos of any fit problems must be emailed to us for evaluation. Include the body shop's phone number so we may offer technical support to the body shop if necessary. We may require you to have a different body shop install the parts at our discretion if we feel a second opinion is needed. Any claims for fit problems must be brought to our attention within 3 business days of receiving the part.
Any claims for defects in fit or finish made after prep work has started on the part will not be honored. This means if your shop takes it upon themselves to fix any issues without prior approval, we will not reimburse for any related expenses nor will the manufacturer honor any defect or fitment claims so make sure test fitting is done prior to any work being started.
Part warranty is 1 year from date of purchase against manufacturer's defects or workmanship. Warranty is for part replacement only.
